Another major influence in terms of visualising artwork comes in the form of Maria Yaschuk. She specialses in textile design with a twist. She uses texture and lighting to create an original blend of materials adding visual depth to her work.
It is easy to stay in a comfort zone, say print based media in design, but she regularly jumps out and her use of traditional paper cutting techniques - and using light reflections to create atmospheric moods is particularly interesting.
There is a personal drive to include some sort of organic process in this project, as although the digital work can be strong, I feel that another dimension can be added by using different and interesting platforms from which to display it from - possibly interactive platforms. In similar fashion to Maria, the use of layering textiles in 3D can be interesting and initial thoughts could be to create artwork that can be stacked and using light to highlight or mask certain areas.
From here I think playing with origami and paper cutting processes with the theory of blending two different objects could achieve interesting results. This relates to the project theory of blending multiple personalities together to achieve a desired result - a dubious link possibly but it could link to greater effect later on in the project development.
